Adaptive Services

Campus Recreation and Intramurals offers adaptive services for patrons with special needs, seeking accommodations or recovering from injury. Equipment in CRI’s facilities and parks can be modified by staff to accommodate your needs. Patrons are welcome and encouraged to transfer to a machine or provided chair whenever applicable. Belts are also available upon request.

Adaptive Resistance Training

Magnum Adaptive Weight Machine

This machine is positioned to reduce traffic flow around the unit while allowing for plenty of space to maneuver for wheelchair users. This includes a vertical chest press/lat row, a lat pull down/bicep curl, pectoral deck and an adjustable pulley.

Adaptive Cardio Equipment

PRO2 Total Body Ergometer

This adaptable rehabilitation tool features an upper body exerciser and a lower body reclining bike for a total body solution. This includes standard, adjustable and bariatric seat options, removable seating, an adjustable therapist assist pedal and seat, bidirectional exercise and low starting resistance.

RST7000 Recumbent Stepper

This machine’s user-defined stride length makes this ideal for therapy and wellness. This includes easy access, sturdy orthopedic footbeds with safety edges and straps, dual position handles to allow muscle groups change, optional range limiters, optional swivel seat with therapist assist pedal and an optional bariatric seat for up to 600 pounds.

Free Weights & Machine Weights

Fitness equipment and machines can be adjusted by fitness and facilities staff for any accommodations.

Personal Trainers

Personal trainers are available to all patrons and can serve various levels of ability.

Injury Prevention & Care

Athletic trainers can help any patron with injuries and special needs.

Wheelchair Basketball

Intramural Sports offers a Wheelchair Basketball league available to all participants regardless of ability for a five-week season during the Spring semester.

Aquatics Center Chair Lift

A portable aquatic chair lift is available to patrons as an alternate entrance and exit from any part of the indoor pool and the outdoor pool. All Aquatics staff members are trained and able to assist patrons with using the lift.

Challenge Course Activities

The Challenge Course at M.C. Anderson Parks offers activities for guests with various abilities. The high and low courses are customized depending on participants and their goals.
